The next few months sees the release of some of the year’s big Hollywood blockbusters, with Russell Crowe in Robin Hood and Jake Gyllenhaal in Prince of Persia.  Sex and the City 2 and Iron Man 2 are two hotly anticipated sequels also opening in UK cinemas soon.  Please tell us which films you’re most excited about going to see on the big screen later this year.

Looking forward to Sex in the City 2 as am a big fan of this and love all the fashion of New York.  Ironman 2 looks awesome as a big fan of special effects anyway and loved the first film.  Robin Hood also looks great, I like all Ridley Scott directed movies.  Also am a fan of Prince of Persia PS2 and 3 games so really excited about the new Prince of Persia to see if its anything like the game or better.

All round it looks to be a good summer for the movies.

Iron Man 2 is a must see, but cannot see anything else worth getting excited about aside from Toy Story 3 & TRON Legacy.  Prince of Persia will have to break the trend of sub standard movies based on console games.

The less said about Sex and the City the better.  Also hoping the A-Team movie is more than just “Charlies Angels with d*cks”.

All of these blockbusters are great for no-brainer activity, but when are we going to get a blockbuster that actually has a story line? Or is that just an oxymoron? I will try to see the historical/action films (with brain in popcorn bucket), but I always hate how history is twisted by Hollywood. Many come out of the cinema thinking that what happened in the film is actually what happened at the time.

Remake after remake, it look to me like Hollidwood has no ideas anymore.

To Sex and the City: I used to liek the TS show, however the movies are just not like the show. To much over the Top… i dont like it

The Kevin Costner Robin Hood was a great movie, so I’m bored at the idea of another Robin Hood remake. Is it really going to be different/better.. It feels like a ‘safe bet’ on the part of the movie-makers rather than doing anything much different.

I think Jake Gyllenhaal is attractive (yes, very shallow) and The Prince of Persia sounds like something new and exotic. I like action historical films like that so I think I will go to see it for those three reasons BUT it has had bad reviews, which is a huge pity and does not make me confident it will be any good. Pity. I have no interest in going to see the sequels and little in seeing a Robin Hood rehash.

Iron Man 2 looks great.

Though not a blockbuster went to see a preview of Hot Tub Time Machine earlier this week. I was sceptical, the name didn’t give me high hopes, but it was great. If you liked the humour of The Hangover you’ll love it

Iron Man 2 is good not sure if it is better than the 1st one but well worth a watch.

Can Hot Tub Time machine be anywhere near as good as Hangover I can’t believe that!

I’m looking forward to A-Team and TRON Legacy and hoping that both haven’t been ruined like so many 80’s remakes.

Prince of Persia looks ok, but after playing the computer games I feel that I may be disappointed.

And for the record, I’m a woman and I will be avoiding SITC as I can’t stand shallow chick flicks, I prefer action movies!

I’d rather attempt to nailgun my own face to a moving train than watch SITC!

Iron Man 2 ftw!! :D

watched Ironman 2 last night and really enjoyed it, an all round great film..  Saw the trailer for The Last Airbender which looks fantastic so am definitely interested in keeping an eye on that one for this summer.

I went to see the Prince of Persia last night and, after hearing some very negative things about it, I came out of the cinema pleasantly surprised.  Having never played the games myself I didn’t know what to expect: it is most definitely action packed (all the sword fighting would be much less appealing to women if it wasn’t for the lovely Jake Gyllenhaal!) and even though at some points it reminded me far too much of The Mummy, it was, all in all, an enjoyable film!

I have already seen Iron Man 2 which I thought was great fun, like the first.  I have seen Robin Hood which was - despite Russell Crowe’s odd accent switching between Yorkshire and Geordie - brilliant.  And the guy who plays King John is brilliant too, a great actor!  I know, I know the Robin Hood Prince of Thieves movie….but seriously, I think this new one is so much better.  At least this movie doesn’t have any blatant errors like this one, if you remember Kevin Costner’s Robin Hood gets to Nottingham via Dover then Hadrian’s Wall, never mind the randomness of Wensleydale and Northumberland.  I have to say his navigation was rubbish!  LOL!

I’m going to see Prince of Persia this weekend because it looks like fun and Gyllenhall looks red hot!!  I’m SO looking forward to the eye candy!  I don’t know anything about the game though.  Honestly, with this type of movie, I am not that bothered.  There are too many people who pick at things, not enough people who go for a good laugh and some enjoyment with the occasional bit of eye candy.

The A-Team I will be seeing with my boyfriend, but we’re not expecting anything spectacular.  We like to call it “mindless popcorn tosh” - fun to see on a Sunday afternoon :o)
