Social Networking websites

2007 was the year when online social networking websites were adopted into mainstream UK culture. 71% of Urban Lifers are currently a member of Facebook - the highest-ranking social network website - with Friends Reunited (38%) and MySpace (30%) following in a distant second and third.

The Brit Awards

Urban Life members were correct in predicting Mark Ronson as the man who should win the Best British Male Solo Artist at this year's Brit Awards (with 24% of your votes). Kate Nash walking away with the Best Female Solo Artist award was a surprise to Leona Lewis fans as well as most Urban Lifers, who predicted a narrow victory for The X Factor winner with 19% of the vote versus 16% for Kate Nash.

Musical instruments

43% of you play a musical instrument, although 32% say that it's something that they used to do but don't anymore. The piano (41%) and guitar (36%) are the most popular choices amongst those that can play an instrument. Most Urban Lifers that don't play a musical instrument say they would like to (59%), with the piano (42%) and guitar (36%) again the top choices.

Music's battle of the decades

According to 1 in 4 Urban Lifers, the 1980s was the decade that produced the best music. However this important verdict is shrouded in controversy, as 32% of you 'couldn't possibly decide' a favourite music decade. Forcing these impartial people to choose a music decade could have swayed the majority verdict to the 90s, which was in second place with 17% of the vote.
