This time around we asked you to share with us your online shopping experiences, good or bad, and if you had any gems of advice to share with you fellow online shopping Urbanites…here is the pick of the bunch….
'Always check your online supermarket shop; I ended up accidentally buying 12 huge bottles of tomato ketchup in January and we are still using them up now!!'
'EBay is fantastic, but for goodness sake read the feedback and have the guts to leave negative feedback when you've had a negative experience.'
'I ordered an outfit for my brother to wear on his stag do as a joke... it was an inflatable "Super Sperm" costume... but when it arrived on the day of the stag do, they had sent an inflatable toddler airplane instead... he did wear it in the end though!'
'I have bought some wonderfully unique and beautiful pieces of clothing from links I've got through MySpace - you wouldn't think to look for clothing here but honestly, search for like-minded people and you'll stumble across some great stuff.'
'I strongly recommend John Lewis online, both for their competitive prices and their outstanding customer service. Don't be fooled by 'cheaper prices' from the usual culprits - these prices are higher than the John Lewis prices in many cases once you include extended cover - which is already included in the John Lewis price for many products.'
'Make use of cash back sites like www.quidco.com and money saving sites like www.hotukdeals.com and www.moneysavingexpert.com'
'A little known tip is to do a Google search on whatever shop you are planning to buy from and then the word voucher - I recently saved £10 off a purchase from John Lewis just be searching "John Lewis voucher" first on Google.'
'Play.com is fantastic and is very cheap! Also use Linemypocket.com to earn cash back when shopping online, you only get small amounts but it all adds up. I use Amazon frequently too for CD's and they have some very good bargains in the used sections!'
'You wanna use ASDA or Tesco for the best bet. With Tesco there are certain nights cheaper than the other so I usually go for a Tuesday. Even better than that, are when you get one of those codes which gives you Free Delivery, or £5 off if you spend over a certain amount. Often it's over £50 but it can be £25 from time to time which is fine and dandy for a single shopper.'
'I ordered a jacket and 2 pairs of trousers. The jacket eventually arrived with a note to say that the trousers were not in stock and that part of the order had been cancelled. What am I supposed to do with a suit jacket with no matching trousers?!! I waited weeks and still no trousers in stock. So, I sent the jacket back (which actually was very simple and easy) and ordered a different set. When it came, guess what, no trousers! Three times this happened.'
'Some of them use strange delivery companies, who can leave parcels outside, in gardens, in window boxes when you are not in. A present delivered to my aunt got watered as it was delivered to the wrong address, left in the window box while the neighbours were away and the person watering the plants didn't know it was there.'
'One 'brown liveried' courier left a TV on my front doorstep unsigned for. Considering that this was a replacement for a burglary - I wasn't too happy.'
