58% of you live in a house and 36% in a flat. Renters (49%) are more likely to live in a flat than owners (27%). 49% of you have a mortgage, with 63% having a fixed rate and 33% a variable rate. Two thirds with a fixed rate mortgage will see this come to end within two years. 64% are currently worried about the recent interest rate rises and 41% of you with a fixed rate ending in the next year or with a variable rate are starting to cut back on your spending. But you are sitting on a hefty amount of equity, with the average amount being £116,700.

72% of renters and 32% who own their own place are thinking about moving home in the next 2 years. The average price of a home you're thinking of buying is £325,800 if living in London, and £199,200 outside London. Of those who own their own place, 48% got the money together for their first place by using savings. 29% were given or lent money from their parents or their partner's parents.
77% without a mortgage are renting a property, the remaining are living with friends or family and not paying rent, or own their place outright. Over half (54%) without a mortgage claim you can't afford one, but in an ideal world 83% would like to own a place in the next 12 months. Just 14% of you believe you will have your own place in the next 12 months. If you were to buy a place, 72% would need help from friends or family to pay the deposit / be a guarantor. However, there are options available and 50% would consider purchasing part equity in a property.
