So this month we asked you not to rant (unless you wanted to) but to tell us a funny alcohol related story. We know that not all of you drink and there were some of you who thought this was a stupid idea but we did have a large response with many funny stories.
Some are just harmless fun…
'When my flatmate gets drunk and falls asleep in the lounge we play buckaroo with him. He twitches when he sleeps so we put fruit and veg on him until he twitches. Always fun!'
'A friend bumped into a mirror last week and apologised to herself!'
But we know alcohol can make you tired…
'Falling asleep on the last train coming home form a works do in Manchester and ending up in Blackburn…I live in Bolton'
'I fell asleep on the night bus home from the pub. My boyfriend got worried that he could not reach me on my mobile, so came down to the bus stop to wait for me. Luckily the bus I was on stopped at my stop and he started tapping on the window to wake me up (it was the middle of winter so he had his jacket up round his chin, was unshaven and wearing a beanie). Eventually he got the person sitting next to me to wake me up, at which point I looked out the window, saw him waiting, picked up my handbag and got off the bus. Apparently the whole back of the bus was just staring at me!'
'University netball tour - got drunk dressed as a smurf, fell asleep in the bath and accidentally stained the bath in the hotel bright blue.'
'I was found asleep on top of a double telephone box only 100 yards away from my hotel. Still no idea to this day how I got up there!'
And often sick…
'Being sick over the side of the bed during sex!'
'Coming home from a party & having to be sick in my handbag because I was in the back of a taxi.'
'Sick on my friend's feet!'
But some things are just down right dangerous…
A friend cut off his finger with a knife when drunk'
My brother impaled his bottom on spiky railings whilst trying to climb over them'
'Picked up sports car on one way road and turned it round (Large group of us and we were all well worse for wear)''
Really though, we have to end on a serious note…
'Sorry but feel that I have to slightly go on the rant side - I more often feel regret about stupid stuff that I have done as a result of drink, rather than find it funny. I wish that we didn't have such a drinking loads culture in the UK and I would like to drink a lot less but feel I can't, not just willpower but peer pressure basically.'
