Have Your Say

Still not convinced...

Back in July 2003 we asked whether you were for or against the war in Iraq. 38% of you said you'd never supported it and a further 14% said the lack of finding any 'weapons of mass destruction' meant the war was not worthwhile.

This year we wanted to see whether seeing the Iraqi people democratically select their own government made any difference to this vote, but 56% of Urban Life members still thought the war wasn't worth it, suggesting that opinion hasn't changed all that much.

Royal Wedding

Boring Old Gits To Wed Almost 4 in 10 of you just "don't really give a damn" when it comes to the Royal wedding between Charles and Camilla, saying that the "Boring Old Gits to Wed" headline used by the Daily Star reflected your attitude (when prompted with a series of different newspaper headlines). However 27% were positive about the news and a further quarter said that while you're not that bothered, you'd still like to hear news about it.

Last orders at the bar

Despite the tendency to go out frequently, to eat, drink and be merry, you Urbanites are still undecided over the issue of 24-hour pub licences. 48% are for it - much higher among men (56%) than women (37%) - but a third of you said you were against it and a fifth said you were still undecided.

Love thy neighbour

6 in 10 Urban Lifers think that Western governments should completely write-off the debts of third world countries. What is more, you would be prepared on average to pay an extra 2.7% in annual income tax so that this could be achieved. What a nice bunch of people you are!
