BLOGGING

"Blogging" is the act of writing a "weblog" - a website containing dated entries in reverse chronological order about a particular topic, functioning as an online journal usually written by one person or a small group of contributors. (But don't worry if you didn't know this, 20% of Urban Lifers were unfamiliar with the "blogging" phenomenon!)

14% of Urban Lifers regularly look at "blog" sites. The most frequently named site was Livejournal.com, visited by 11% of all blog viewers. This was followed by MySpace.com (3%), Blogger.com (2%), BelleDeJour (1%) and Blogspot (1%)

However, the top 5 sites only accounted for 18% of all "blogs" looked at. For most people, a blog is a highly personalised mark of individuality and niche interest, and there are many different sites viewed. In fact, many of you Urbanites said the blog sites you looked at belonged to friends or relatives.
